Udita was born on September 2, 1984 in Dehra Dun, the capital of Uttarkhand to her
parents who originally held from north eastern state of Assam. She studied in D.A.V.
Public school till 8th standard and she always preferred to be in the midst of showbiz
and finally decided to leave the town and headed to Mumbai despite some initial
opposition from her parents.

She was steely about her career in showbiz and soon started modeling. She bagged
assignments from reputed brands like Pepsi, Sun.com, Nokia, Star Movies, Platinum,
Levis, Wills Sports, Lee Cooper, Rags, Elle Sports, Rupam, Park Hotel, Taj Hotel,
Titan Watches, Brylcream, etc. She was successful as a model and she won prestigious
awards like "MTV Model Mission 2 and Model of the Universe Asia 2001” and graced the
cover of magazines ELLE, Femina, Cosmopolitan, Bride n Home, Zinc, etc. and there is
record of successful ramp on big stages for famous fashion designers like Suneet
Verma, Tarun Tahilyani, Nikki Mahajan and Ranna Gill.

With good looking sensuous feature and attractive smile on her face, along with
abundant success in modeling, acting capability naturally figured in Udita's scheme of
things and she made up her mind to acheive in films as well. She is quite a foodie and
has fetish for Goan food and her favorite perfume is Red Door by Elizabeth Arden. Some
of her favorite actors are Gary Cooper, Shashi Kapoor, workaholic Rekha and Marilyn
Monroe.

Career

This green-eyed beauty made her debut role in Paap, directed by actress turned
director Pooja Bhatt. She was starred opposite John Abraham, though the movie did not
made a good impact at box office, the on-screen chemistry between them was definitely
the talk of tinsel town and Udita got rave reviews for her exceptional role as a
Buddhist monk.

She then appeared in a low budget film Zeher and the movie went on to become a huge
hit despite the controversies on inclusion of some explicit scenes. Udita appear in

scanty cloths and people even said she exposed her skin too much in the movie.
However, she won the race and she was successful in establishing a separate niche for
herself in the industry.

Udita also did an appreciating role in Aksar(2006) opposite Dino Morea and Emraan
Hashmi. The song Laagi Laagi from the movie was a hit, and later she appeared in Ahmed
Khan's music video of the remix of Kya Khoob Lagti Ho.
She was seen acting in movies like Aggar in 2007 opposite 2007. She has once set the
small screen on fire as achannel V Goddess and has been seen in many social activities
including show for the Sick Kids Foundation. With many opportunities in hand, she is
very particular about selecting her roles and we are sure she will come with more
remarkable roles in near future.
